The Story of Hocho

From a young age, our talented chef, was drawn to cooking, not just for the flavors, but for the art behind each dish. He admired Japanese cuisine for its simplicity, its technique, and its quiet elegance. Over the years, he studied the traditional ways: how to hold a hocho, means a knife, how to slice fish with care, how to prepare rice like it’s a ceremony.

When Hocho opened its doors on December 2024, it wasn’t just the launch of a new restaurant. It was the beginning of a dream, a Japanese dining experience, led by a Saudi hand.

Our Goals and Commitment

  • Train and mentor Saudi chefs in Japanese culinary traditions.
  • Celebrate cultural fusion through food at events like the Saudi Feast.
  • Expand internationally while keeping Saudi leadership at the forefront.
  • Aim for a Michelin Star, representing not just culinary excellence, but a new Saudi era in fine dining.

Hocho is a knife.
Chef Hassan holds it with pride.
And every dish he creates is a cut through boundaries —
where Japan and Saudi meet, beautifully and boldly.
